6月2日晚，德勤区块链实验室驻米兰首席技术官Stefano'Lion'Leone做客「3⃣点钟MarsBit创始学习群」，开展主题为“如何从技术角度测评ICO”的分享。

他认为区块链是密码学、经济学、博弈论和分布式系统4个科学领域的结合. 很少有人能够同时掌握4个领域，所以如何评测ICO，其实难度挑战都很高，主要可以从团队背景、白皮书技术细节、社区和创始人的互动、Github激活、ICO网站等方面入手。

Stefano'Lion'Leone 是在电信和金融领域拥有15年经验的软件工程师和架构师。目前，他是德勤区块链实验室驻米兰的首席技术官（CTO)，同时是关注以太坊区块链的意大利社区的创始人和领导者。

let's talk about ICO and why we should spend alot of time doing due diligence
Blockchain is the union of 4 scientific fieldsnamely cryptography, economics, game theory and distributed system.

You can hardly find a person that is able tomaster 1 or 2 of them at the same time.

There is no absolute guru, you have to educateyour self as much as you can，
even myself。

Traditional businesses are moving to ICOsspace. In a traditional business you have investors, the company and customers.
Investors are driven by money, customers ask forthe best products and the company could have a conflict of interests
Between delivering the best product to customersand achieve a good ROI.In the ICO space, for the first time and only thanks tothe blockchain, investors, the company and customers could be the same actor.
Investors can be also product users but alsodevelopers of new services for the company.
This band new scenario and cutting edgetechnologies (mostly experiments, almost no one at enterprise grade)，can transfor，a traditional experienced investor in a scam victim.It is natural.

So I would like to share some advise
Try to find who is behing a company, who is theCTO, the CEO, the company address. Try to talk directly to the founders inorder to get also a gut feeling, try to skype with them.
They should be trasparent.

we have lots of investors in this group -angels, VCs, and blockchain/crypto investors

So it is like Due Diligence 101 - to know theteam!

The ICO whitepaper must be an in depthexplanation of the ICO's product with comprehensive details on how they want torealize their product.
Stefano Leone:It might sound good but look atdetails, demand for details, reach out to the founders to get details and thatfounders themselfs have clear what they are doing.
Try to understand if it is an only an idea,ideas are worthless. It is all about the implementation.
Check ICO communities, go for Telegram, Slack,Reddit.
If you don't see a huge community with thousandsand thousands of users, it is scary, people ask for details, engage withfounders.
If people know founders's addresses, it meansthe ICO has a kind of responsability.
It might be harder to scam and more peoplelikely could sue the ICO.
Find out if the ICO is moving forward with codeon Github, you must see activities on their public source code repository.
It is highly important that you see actual codeand don't be fooled just by a whitepaper.
Scams are now able to commit and push someupdates on Github, check the actual code. Sometimes you see just commentupdates.
Mik: I’ve seen two kind ofwhitepapers: focusing on business model , or with a lot of blockchainimplementation detail. What type is more convincing to you?

Check for fake websites. This will be a trandfor this year and the coming. It is very easy to build a fake website.
You aready can find fake websites claiming theyare Telegram ICO and taking their money. Always check for the green HTTPSpadlock on your browser.

They business model either is not enough, anICO needs a growth plan
great tech details, perfect blockchain use case,business plan, growth plan and AI plus big data and virtual reality are stillnot enough
The key factor here is the product in terms ofusability and user interface. User interaction, user experience.

It is the user experience.you should see thousands of users (real users) onTelegram for instance.

There are infrastructure ICO, in this case Iwhould consider their API，check theinteractions on the community，real users should ask and comment，50,000 users and no clever questions is a scam.

Interoperability among different blockchains，assets, value and cryptos moving back andforward among different blockchain. If now you couldbe bit confused with 1600 different tokens and coins。Well wait next years with 100,000 tokensand coins

A token is in his essence a language to talkand exchange value, you should start to educate your self now, blockchain is acomplex monster.I have been to the Consensus in New York last month.

Vitalic Buterin said that,performance comes after optimization, we are justexiting from an experimental stage,at the Consensus of New York this year I sawsome enterprise grade solutions,although,I saw key custody solutions, when you hold crypto, you must keep secret yourprivate keys.

Those solutions are for wallets with at leaset25 milions of usd,at least, it means big institutions will be able to jump in.
